Return to Childhood

Little brown eyes and huge vivacious smiles,
As two reticent sisters sing the same melody,
Notes like two sparrows chirping on a bamboo tree,
Hymning for the pretty princess fighting for liberty,
The taciturn winter shines in full radiance,
As the spring flowers breathe out fragrance,
And as the toddlers frisk under the afternoon heat,
Innocent laughter and ebullient limbs add to the beat.

As I contemplate about the convivial laughter nearby,
I feel nostalgic and elated for a jubilant past gone by,
And while I smile reminiscing those,
A little angel comes up to me and says,
“Will you play ringa-ringa roses with me?
For I shall be very happy to be with thee,”
My dormant innocence bubbles out.
For I again play like a cheerful elf.
