In the place I used to know,
It always seemed sunny and green.
Truly, it was a most beautiful scene;
Things as they are, with never a show.

In the place I used to know,
People worked long and hard.
They never let down their guard,
Nor come to let their standards low.

In the place I used to know,
Everyone smiled, and life was grand.
If only we had courage to take a stand;
Be happy, and let our countenance glow.

In the place I used to know,
One didn't have the time to hate.
Oh, it certainly was a delightful state,
When people were friends, with never a foe.

In the place I used to know,
Many lived life to its fullest.
Back then the world was at its slowest;
This is the place that children should grow.

Hannah's poem reminds one of the courtesies that make life pleasant as well as a clear prompt that we owe it to children to make the world a safe and beautiful place to grow. Very well done.
