There's Only Me Now
Where are you now? What happened to you?
We fit so perfectly, my missing puzzle piece
You were my life, you were my love
I never knew that this emotion would cease
Didn’t you think of us? Our love, our life?
Keeping me company, lifting my heart
How will I manage without you now?
I couldn’t see straight when we were apart
You were the one who was always there
You were my rock, the solid ground
We laughed together, we cried together
You were the one who was strong and sound
So why weren’t you there when I needed you most?
The children have left us, there’s only me
I thought we would share memories, but that never happened
Why could the lord, Jesus Christ, let this be?
And until death did us part
You made me feel safe, cherished, secure
Until you were gone, until you disappeared
Your outline obscure
Now in my old age
There’s nothing that hurts me more
Than knowing the yin of my yang
Had left me like this, hurting and sore
