“Every man dies - Not every man really lives.” ~ William Ross

Looking into a crowd
Does anyone see me?
I’m hiding inside myself
Living a life of treachery

My thoughts scare me
If only I were,’t so scared

My internal scars just ripped at the seams
I plunge into darkness
It hurts
Can somebody pull me out
Can I pull me out

I can’t see the light anymore
I’m falling
The black cut out my eyes
That is all I see now
Nothingness

I thought I saw someone
I grabbed towards what I thought was a hand
No...
The man handed me a shovel and told me to keep digging

I dig until I see light
The light seemed to be burning me

I stopped for a moment in time
Long enough to feel a hot whip across my back
I reached around to rub the wound but all I saw was crimson red

The man was now forcing me down
Digging into what seemed my own prison
The pain is creating a furious flame burning my body slowly

I have finally reached the bottom
Only to realize the man above me was actually below

He gives me a choice
A ladder for eternity, or a life of rot
I chose the life of rot
