I can see people’s dreams
Like ships bobbing in a crowded harbor
Some lay old and neglected,
Slowly corroding into dust
Never again to be sailed,
Or thought about.
And others are new and sparkling.
I can see people’s dreams
Like graves in a graveyard
Some are huge monuments
Surrounded by a flood of flowers.
And others lie in the dark corners
Seemingly forgotten.
I can see people’s dreams
But I see so few fulfilled.
