Rejection hurts,
It leaves its sting
Like a punch in the stomach
Or a fist to the face,
Leaving you feeling
Shattered, lost and alone.
Hope bursts in,
Just to get shoved out,
You just want to forget,
You just want to let go,
I thought we were…
I thought wrong…
Pain and tears,
Jolt like an electric shock,
Another punch to the face
Falling down, waiting
Once daring to hope.
Now rejected.
