Nature
The sky, it captivates me as it beckons to my soul
And the grass swallows my feet as I lose my self-control
The crickets are chirping sounds of grace and lover’s quarrels
As I fight to keep alive my sense of pride and fading morals
The wind it whispers to me as my eyes begin to tear
And my lungs do rise, and they do fall as my breath becomes so near
And I look up to the darkened clouds for someone who’s not there
And I ask, if this is really, truly life, then why is it not fair?
I feel raindrops tap me as they dance along my sides
And pull me with a power equivalent to ocean tides
My fingers reach for earth and they dig until they find
Soil rich in all the things that Mother Nature does provide
And soon I hear the thunder and I know that I’ve been heard
As I start to drift away a bit and reality is blurred
I see a creature coming towards me, timid but divine
And fall asleep so soundly because I know this night is mine
