Isolation

June 11, 2008
By Jocelyn Tannenbaum, Congers, NY

Cold and Dark,
The senses take over
Calm breaths feel like ice.
There’s nothing to see here,
Too numb to feel.
Lonely for as many miles seen.
Starving for a companion,
Animals contain my co-compassion,
Until the hunger takes over.
It’s Cold.
It’s Dark.
