Don't Give Up
When you need a shoulder to cry on but everyone seems just out of reach, don’t give up. If your friends all change into something you never want to me. Your mother leaves you for a man she met two days ago; don’t give up. If your parents beat you for speaking your mind, don’t give up. To the teenage parents trying to provide the best life for your child. To those contemplating suicide because your life just isn’t worth the pain… don’t give up. You feel like your life is a mess. You don’t know how to be yourself. You want someone to understand you. Don’t give up. If you’re trapped in a foreign world and you don’t know where to go. If you are fighting for your country and have never even seen your two year old child’s smile. Don’t give up. The world is cruel. Rocks shattering windows, people shattering hearts. Sometimes the only thing to do is wonder. Wonder what’s out there. Wonder what makes people keep going.
