Side Effects of an Ignorant Earth

the sky
is a painful shade of blue
not yet white
or grey
the leaves are a sinister brown
soaked down to the core with our precious home's
impending death
the air is stiff with anticipation
while the clouds stay still
waiting for the world to come crashing down
and there on the hill is a single soul
waiting
for her voice to be heard
waiting
for the world to listen
waiting
for the end
so she can start a new
begginning.
