Hidden Demons

Mommy always said,
“There is no such thing as monsters.”
But this old cliché of words
Cannot prevent what occurs.
These demons, creatures,
Monsters of the night
Are masters of darkness
And captains of fright.
The actions of these fiends
Is a mystery unsolved.
Where could they be plotting?
How will we become involved?
And consequently,
The unbeknownst beast to us
That lives within us all
Will cause our destruction
Our detrimental fall.
