Summer's Sadness

January 8, 2008

The evening was a warm happiness, carrying us,
The words, spoken, lay throbbing beside him,
His voice came and went along with regret,
Summer's magic rained from my eyes,

The darkness was a cool emptiness, cradling us,
The words, unspoken, lay tasteless inside me,
My voice disappeared along with confidence,
Crystal sadness fell from my eyes,

I held my breath, fighting the urge,
To lose myself right here, right now,
I closed my eyes, escaping reality,
All at once, I sunk into love's arms.
