Through the darkness I drive

Through the darkness I drive
gripping the wheel in front of me
Desperately hanging on
as inspiration overwhelms me.
Images and Words race by
as I struggle to take them all in
I slow down and try to relax
The blackness sheds its cloak.
I pull over and turn off my headlights
realizing what I’ve always been missing
Stepping out of the car into the darkness
creative space expands into infinity.
