Nothing Gold Can Stay

“Nature’s first green is gold,”
At least that’s what I was told.
Back when the dinosaurs roamed,
When the cavemen used a comb of stone.

“Nature’s first green was gold,”
that’s a fact that I must hold.

So what’s gold today?
A thing in which we used to play?
And spend and spend and,
Just give away?

“Nothing gold can stay,”
nothing gold does stay.

Inspired by the Poem, “Nothing Gold Can Stay”
By Robert Frost

The author's comments:
Again, In English class we took two lines and the title of the poem, "Nothing Gold Can Stay" By Robert Frost, and kept writing our own. I adore Robert Frost.
