- What Matters
Running away from my mind,
Leaving hate and self-loathing behind.
Running and running as fast as I can,
What is happening to me I helplessly demand?
The monsters are gaining on me I silently screamed,
But it was too late, no one could save me it seemed.
What was I to do? Where was I to go?
It was just then one of my monsters decided to show.
She was about a hundred feet tall,
And wide too from what I saw.
But I looked closer to what didn’t seem true,
And discovered ME chasing me, through and through.
I admitted a grin, but from what I saw,
She wasn’t happy to see me, Not at all.
She looked at me through her beady eyed glare,
And told me angrily not to stare.
She said I’ve been horrid, being mean to people, all and all.
I felt ashamed with myself, and vowed to change, to get back on the ball.
She suddenly agreed and then disappeared.
I couldn’t believe what had happened here!
But then I awoke with a cold sweat,
Then looked up to see me staring at me yet.
I realized it was my mirror and gave a foolish snort,
Oh my, wouldn’t THIS make a good English report?
