Crying
A few years ago,
I lost someone that was very special to me.
He taught me so much,
And I enjoyed every moment of it.
We would sit in the garage,
Eating peanuts and blueberries,
Just talking, and having a good time.
I remember that day he passed,
I was sleeping over at my grandma's house.
We had just come back from the hospital,
And the phone had rung.
My grandma said that we had to go back.
I remember,
the nurses giving my a whole bunch of treats,
I wasn't too sure what was going on.
I remember,
My uncle was pacing back and fourth,
And I started to follow him.
Then,
The time had come,
I walked into his room.
I didn't know what to think at first,
I just stood there in shock.
My grandpa was gone.
We were there for hours,
Well that's what it seemed.
I was only a little kid.
I went back to my grandma's,
And we said a prayer for him.
I knew my grandma was crying on the inside,
But she didn't show it.
The week before the funeral,
I went to a lot of places with my uncles.
We spent a lot of time together during that week.
I remember,
One night,
My mom read me a book about a little boy that lost his dog.
That night,
I cried,
And didn't sleep at all.
I lost someone close to me,
And I know I'm not the only one.
I got through it,
And so can you,
Just don't forget the good times you had.
