If mirrors could replay
And pillows showed tears
What would you listen to
If the bed had ears?
What if my shoes
Could show you all my steps?
Or if the walls would release
Their hidden depths?
What if the curtains
Drawn back to show the sun
Were pulled away to show a light
But you see that I have none
Would the fleet remain
A safe haven to hide thoughts in?
Or will someone turn a fan
And make your world spin?
You can draw a pretty picture
Of your love to frame on a wall.
But remember you need the right nail
Or your picture may fall.
