The black birds' sorrow

February 12, 2011

The black bird can't wallow in it's own sorrow
it can't fly no more
The leaves flutter down mockingly and acorns thump to the ground
This black birds feathers no longer glow with passion for the sky
and there is no one to mourn
when it caws it's last cry
many walk by this poor bird,
or stop to poke some fun
But two little hands will clasp in prayer that the bird shall fly again

The author's comments:
This was inspired by a story my mother told me about my childhood, and the black bird we passed that lead to the telling of my childhood

again I'd like it to be under the name Silverlight or silversteps
