Meet Me Halfway

I questioned,
"How could we even seem to work?"
When dangers of polar love always lurk?
He replied,
"Give God thanks opposites attract
Without you my heart is cracked"
I accused,
"What might we turn out to be?
I,
flying off in one direction,
and you the other, constantly?"
He fired back,
"Well! What a good thing the world is round!
So when we meet halfway,
we'll once again be bound."
He held me.
And I embraced him back.
In that moment, I was certain
there was nothing I'd ever lack.
