Camping trips and fireflies
Stars illuminate the skies
I held her close those summer nights
When romance breathed a breath of life
Take a drive down A1A
Maybe noon I’ll start the day
Work and worry go away
Fun times with friends are here to stay
Camp counseling is what I do
Connect 4 and even Clue
Capture the flag and chair forts too
Checkers, drawing, crafts and Guess Who
But now the nights are short and cold
She isn’t here for me to hold
Summer is over and the stories we told
Are dead like the fireflies, memories of old.
