An image in existence to who we appear to be,
Eyes staring at eyes in this illusion based world,
Outer appearances shed a light to who we are not,
A fake persona that leads the world to a blasphemous account,
Our soul yearns to be heard not from our eyes but from within,
Scratching at the surface to be untamed, unleashed, let free,
The insecurities of our inner leak out onto our outer being,
Soon we will be found out as nothing more than an incessant lie,
Drowning in the blood of our own soul's death,
Our mind decays as our soul is no longer conscious,

If only the soul could have been saved from its own misery,
Nothing more than a breath of air and the revelation of your true identity,
Physicality is the cover up persona of who we want to be,
The human race disgruntled about true inner peace,
Controversy of the soul bled into final corruption,
Fabrication of the heart.

The author's comments:
In Middle School especially everyone appears to be fake. It's as if they are walking around hoping that their "true" self won't be discovered. As we mature, hopefully, we shed some of these insecurities and discover that our "true" self is the most beautiful.
