Not A Word Said
It is all my fault
I knew what you did
But I never said a word.
I don't think you ever found out that I knew
I saw you that first night
The needle was still stuck in your arm
I froze, not knowing what to do.
The next day I pretended not to notice you
A horrible picture burned into my head
Weeks turned into months and time flew
Still not a word said.
You never came home that day
I prayed that you were safe
March, April and May
Months went by and every night I'd pray
You came back when I least expected
But you weren't the same
Just an unfamiliar face with a familiar name
You weren't the brother I once knew
Nevertheless I still loved you.
