Homecoming Blur

By
Stepping out of the car
seeing a sea of colors here and afar
strips of vibrance spliced onto somber black and white
and elegant bursts of color shimmering in the light
along with it a confusion of noise
of a queue of limousines so far in the distance looking like toys
Of the chatter coming from all around you, a blur of sounds
You head in with the rest and look around
where these bright and sober colors spill onto the dance floor
Yet you don't pay attention you look towards the door
As a familiar face becomes clear in the dim moor
you grab their hand and head towards the floor
With a burst of sound the music blasts
You and the colors begin to ripples and dance
Even though time is past in a blur of colors sounds and lights
no one ever forgets homecoming night
