Into the Abyss
The abyss flows everlasting
Like the river that never dries
Or the sun that keeps beating down
An end, extinct
Out there is infinite
Stopping remains a comical joke
The drive to not think about it, to not grasp the idea of unlimited life and potential
Oh, it’s all out there
Small as a grain of sand on a 10-mile beach, that one spec is as massive as our notion for destruction
For we massacre our home, take every crevice for our own
Our outlook is imminent, so why not venture for Plan B?
Options exist there, where the mysteries list for as long as the grass grows green each Spring
The plateau of nothingness right at our fingertips,
Holding our futures, our destinies
We must solve the jigsaw of the unknown
If not, our pieces disintegrate
Leaving the puzzle we created as someone else’s activity
Right here is our problem, out, way out there, holds the key to the answer
