Whistling winds whisper in my ear
telling me truths and facts
that I have come to fear
the haunting shadows of my past
its ugly head will rear
this pain returning from my past
comes and goes like a new year

A salty tear caresses my cheek
a leaf crawls down the path
cold winds, in my jacket they peak
that sneaky cunning draft!
this pain that makes me feel so weak
will someday make me laugh

i trusted you, you held my hand
now i must let you go
they say that karma goes around and what you reap you sow
i feel betrayed, you were my friend yet now you are my foe
this pain that i'm feeling again i felt so long ago
this pain will soon come to an end
this pain i'm letting go
