Hero

Run into the flames Hero,
run and save those souls,
run past sense and safety,
over the burning coals.

Run into the flames Hero,
run! The voices grow weak,
run to the place of desperation,
the place where hearts still beat.

Run into the flames Hero,
run, even though you know.
Run through the snow and sparks,
to the room where breaths are low.

Run into the flames Hero,
run! Don’t stop to think.
Run in front of facts and fate,
to the tomb where spirits sink.

Run into the flames Hero,
run before it’s too late!
Run into the room,
where the bodies lay and wait.

Run into the flames Hero,
run and catch those cries.
Run ahead of doubt and death,
to the place of weeping eyes.

Run out of the flames Hero,
run and don’t let go.
Run toward hope and happiness,
so that those hearts can grow.

Run into the light Hero,
run! Don’t catch your breath.
Run straight to rest and reunion,
for you saved lives in death.

I run into the graveyard,
run to stop the pain.
Run up to the gray stone,
where his life is lain.

I stand beside my Hero.
I stop. Respect I pay.
For it is because my Hero ran,
that I am still alive today.
