I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind. Some come from ahead and some come from behind. But I've bought a big bat. I'm all ready you see. Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me! - Dr. Seuss

I love watching birds
Birds are free
They defy gravity
They can go anywhere

Birds are free
Birds can sing if they please
They can go anywhere
And they are not burdened with complicated feelings

Birds can sing if they please
Birds are joyful creatures
And they are not burdened with complicated feelings
I envy birds

Birds are joyful creatures
Soaring above our heads
I envy birds
I wish to be free like them

This was a piece I wrote for my creative writing class. I was really proud of this piece and I also have a thing for birds and that's really what inspired it.

You can't see the stars if you are always looking down.

i really liked this, i love how it captures an adolescent's longing for freedom.
