There are so many thoughts going through my head…
I’m torn in two,
Between where I am and where I want to be.
My parents keep telling me,
It will be alright… I’ll be fine…I’ll adjust…
Do they expect me to forget?
Do they think I can?
I can’t forget!
That’s why I’m broken, that’s why I’m broken.
I keep all of my anger, hate, sadness, feelings
I don’t talk, I don’t smile, I don’t laugh…
I don’t want to feel anything anymore –
I want to be emotionless.
That’s my only choice.
I can’t leave my family to go back,
To go home,
Yet I don’t want to forget the friends I loved.
I don’t want a new life – I want to keep the old,
Want to so much, but just can’t.
I need someone -
To talk to, to be there for me,
To hold me and tell me everything will be alright,
But I know everything isn’t going to be alright.
That’s why I’m broken, that’s why I’m broken.
