I Challenge Myself

i challenge myself
more everyday
trying to get these memories
of abuse to go away
i challenge myself
to forgive my mother
for all her mistakes
because i still need her
i need her to realize
what life's all about
instead of living her life
with so many doubts
i challenge myself
to live for Rose Marie Plante
instead of living my life
always saying, "i can't"
i'm going to challenge myself
to be the best that i can be
if it be with no help
i can do it appropriately
