I Am

I am from bottles and diapers
I am from pampers haggis and pull-ups
I am from mom and a dad hugs
I am from warm summers in the south
I am from eagles to huskies
I am from 911 at age ten
I am from paintings pictures and sketches
I am from jaguars and Texas stadium
I am from hot summer practices on the turf
I am from contests and game nights
I am from uniforms and backpacks
I am from flags riffles and saber
I am from student to teacher
I am from follower to leader
I am from a mound of flowers as you ride into town
I am from the stage and acting
I am from cold winters and moving trucks
I am from the musical guys and dolls
I am from friend’s family and memories from long ago
Pictures that can not be relived
I am from my past and a part of my future
But for now I live in the moment
One-step at a time
That is the way I want my life to be
