Leslie and the Woods

By
He said “these woods are pretty piney”
She said “I see something shiny!”
He said “this here is tiny…”
She touched it to find out it’s slimy.

It was a slug they saw
Then all of a sudden, a friendly paw..
It was a puppy they saw
They thought about an opposing law
To state they can’t claim him now.

They choose to keep this black-and-white dog.
To get out of the thin fog,
They decide to jump across the log,
But all of a sudden, they see a hog.

They’re living in a fantasy world,
Where everything is slightly curled,
Leslie starts to twirl
While the wind is starting to whirl

Mark starts to take charge
Fighting off this hog who’s large
They know by now it’s March
They want to get rid of the arch

Then Leslie falls off the rope
All of a sudden, Mark loses all hope
He knows the hog is afraid of soap
He no longer wants to cope

He throws it off to the side
Now regretting he had lied
Because Leslie forever remains in the tide.
