Acid goodbye
If one more acid word
 Leaks out of your lips
 I’m going to turn around

 If one more time
You tell me who to be
Our friendship might burn to the ground

One more line of chiding cuss words
Trying to stop me from living my life
And your familiar figure will be surrounded by ash

 I‘m starting to see
 Through my blinded eyes
That our friendship was never meant to last

 I’m sixteen years old
 Sixteen years young
But sometimes my age tells little white lies

I can make my own decisions
Without your words filling my mouth
Because my adult mind has nothing to hide

So don’t tell me who to be
Or who should earn my beloved trust
Or I wont be around when you want to try
Simply telling your best friend goodbye.
