A Promised Sky

At sunset I watch the sky fall,
It won’t fall like the snow,
In the blink of an eye,
It will come fast rather than slow.

Heaven’s gates are burning with love,
I can see as I look up,
God is in Heaven above.

Laying here I feel the warm breeze,
A breeze from God,
It slowly puts me on my knees.

I’d never miss out on a swirled orange sky,
I close my smiling eyes,
And then I start to fly.

I keep flying up and out of this place,
Into God’s presence,
I can see his flawless face.

He tells me “Keep working, you’re doing just fine”,
I fall back to earth,
And open my eyes.

He’s going to come get us,
No question at all,
You better be ready,
The sky’s going to fall.
