And, someday, you’ve gotta quit chasing Angels
December 5, 1951-January 27, 2010

Black dresses say goodbye
Teaching you how to fly

With wings so white
You’re here tonight

You light up the room and simply glow
I only wish you could know

What it’s like to be alive
Angels whispering take the dive

Just wait it out, it’ll be okay
When the Angels come down to play

Let them go
Tell them no

Don’t make that mistake
That choice you had to make

The Angels got the best of you
And nobody ever knew

Black dresses say goodbye
Teaching you how to fly

With wings so white
You’re here tonight.

The author's comments:
My mom worked with a lady who had suffered from depression since her husband died. She always appeared collected, but if you really payed attention to her, you could see how fragile she truly was. She killed herself right before the 7 year anniversary of her husbands death.
I wrote this just days after it happened because I thought somebody owed it to her.
