Bouquet
I was given a bouqet of flowers,
 how beautiful they were
all tucked in tight and neatly,
 grown with love for sure.

I put them by the window
 to let their beauty shine
 they looked so quiet there,
 so humble, so kind.

But days went by and by,
and as I watched them grow
they started to turn and wilt,
and I had never felt so much guilt.

 For these flowers were deprived
of my tender care and love,
and so they continued to hide
 from their true colors above.
