Pens and pencils tapping a rhythm of writing

Sitting in class is,
Success splattered everywhere in this room
Giving us,
As students,
A feeling of pride

Sitting in class is
Paper being wrapped around me and twisting
Until
My ideas are expressed and
Free to,
Explore and wonder

I can see kids grasping Mr. Sanderson’s words and taking and turning them,
And making them
Their own

I can hear the shuffling of feet,
With the odd side conversations.
When I hear the details that make them unique in their own way
Then I hear the weirdest sound,
