The angels above us
watch us with care
so that not a bit of harm
will come to a single hair

We sleep through the night
as they fly gently down
their twinkling light
blankets the quiet town

Asleep in our craddles
they wrap our dreams in clouds
with a bow of sweet roses
and a ribbon stretched through crowds

we feel their soft skin
wrap around our tiny hands
like the waves in the ocean
encircling the sands

our eyes flutter open
and the angel, in sight,
whispers, softly,sweetly
"Dear creature say goodnight."
