A Backpack's Life
You put me on the floor,
Or stuff me in a locker.
Sitting here all day, like it's a chore.
Stop kicking me, we're not playing soccer!
Rushing, hurrying, sprinting,
I pass by other backpacks just like me.
Holding on to the backs of their human,
Getting to class ASAP.
Hearing you complain all the time,
Do you think you have the hard part?
I carry your homework, projects, and textbooks, every day.
And after today, the cycle restarts.
There's much more I can say
Much to my dismay.
Maybe after hearing from me, you'll want meet your backpack halfway.
