My Always

November 20, 2007
By Melinda Cohoon, Tigard, OR

You are my star that shines bright in the sky
Not fading away for more than a lifetime
For separation to occur one would have to die
You are forever, my only, my sublime
Pure eyes so deep and yet completely true
No more staggering on that very thin line
Entangling as one, we finally grew
I should have known we’d actually be fine
You are honesty, to whom I am attached
Individuality from head to toe
You are the beautiful butterfly I catched
We have fought but you will never be my foe
You will never go, and you will always stay
You will never go, you’ll be with me everyday
