I Am...
I am a student hard working and brilliant
I wonder about how can I get all A’s
I hear the clicks from pens and mechanical pencils
I see A’s all over my report card
I want to be more organized and have a better GPA
I am a student hard working and brilliant
I pretend I am not a nerd
I feel nervous before I take a test
I tap my keyboard constantly to type out my poems
I worry that an A- isn’t good enough
I cry when I get a B+
I am a student hard working and brilliant
I understand that I can only get A’s, and
I say, “B’s aren’t good enough”, but
I dream the day when the dean of Harvard says,
“You have gotten got into Harvard”
I hope I do well in school, because
I am a student hard working and brilliant
