Hoplites in their endless ranks,
Shields locked in mighty walls at river's banks,
Fortresses on the move, mountains at war,
Ares, Eris, bring battle to phalanx's core.
Battle is joined, each warrior prays to Nike,
Thanatos claims hero and soldier alike,
The gods take up arms, a divine clash,
As shield walls charge and crash.
