september 11th
In response to Roger A. Lee’s photograph
9/11
People searching for loved ones
Smoke and ashes filling their lungs
The American flag rises above all
Above the buildings that once stood tall
It seemed like an ordinary September 11
Until terrorists made a missile out of a Boeing 747
Everyone wondering who could commit such a senseless act
No one thought America would get attacked
Countless brave firefighters risked their lives for others
Some even said goodbye to their lovers
The nation went into a state of shock
Soldiers on guard around the clock
All the rescue workers stood in silence
Hopefully someone can end this violence
