Ode to the Stars

I write about the shining lights that hang upon the sky,
Whose mighty glow is trapped in curtains,
swirling with the night's heavy sigh.
They dance around the Earth's black ceiling,
forming pictures as they go.
Gleaming like a diamond ring;
they put on a dazzling show.
They pose for watching telescopes,
and wink with a flicker of light.
Then they spread their brilliant wings,
and soar across the night.

I did this poem for school in seventh grade, but it turned out to be one of my best pieces!
