“The Cathedral”

Staring up into the sky
View consumed by flying buttresses
And gothic architecture
Filling the horizon at its highest point

Entering the sacred cathedral causes
Sharp intakes of breath
The ceiling seems built for giants
Covered in shadows of clouds

It is as if walking into a dream
A place out of a fairytale but life size and real
As if speech or thought would
Make it all vanish into oblivion

Visions of life, love, and hope
Breathe into the stone
And dance through the light of stained glass
Symbolizing the unity of life through true beauty
