Goodbye to
hot summers in your backseat;
Your car
parked along the side of the street.
Goodbye to
Secret words and the hidden intent;
No one ever knowing
what in the world we meant.
Goodbye to
running away to the California beach.
And saying I love you
… As far as I can reach…
Goodbye to
midnight conversations;
being flirting and sweet
without explanations.
Goodbye to
our dreams we carefully planned.
And the precise notes
written by hand.
Thinking back to us
makes me want to cry,
I guess I’m not ready
to say goodbye…
