"Don't worry about the people in your past. There's a reason why they didn't make it to your future."

It was the first time I saw it on the television./
"I am going today," I said, and made my decision./
So I hopped in the car and headed to the shopping mall./
My mom said, "When you are done, don't forget to give a call."/

The item I desired was a red cotton sweatshirt./
I asked where to find it, but the help yelled, "Not here!!" all curt./
So I tried a different boutique and got excited./
"Come on into our store," a tall lady invited./

I searched for a prolonged length of time just in that one store./
But I still could not locate what I have been searching for./
The tall lady spoke of something that became clear to me./
"What you want is cotton, but all we sell here is Ghundi."/

I replied thatn you, quickly turned around, and walked away./
On my way to Cotton Works, people crowded the stairway./
One man dropped a brown bag of eleven baby carrots./
"Attention, the mall is about to close in ten minutes."/

By this time I started to panic, I need to get there!/
While walking by, a little boy stuck candy in my hair./
I was disgusted, but didn't care, and passed the nail shop./
I got outside the Cotton Works and saw the last red top./

"That's it!!" I yelled and ran through the maze of clothes to get it./
I leaped towards the sweatshirt thinking, "I hope it would fit."/
When reaching to grasp it, my hand surprisingly stopped short./
It wasn't a sweatshirt at all, in fact, it was a skort./

I asked, "Where is the red sweatshirt?" to the nearest salesman./
He was a formal gentleman who was a bit too tan./
The salesman stated that they ran out two minutes ago./
Never, in my life, have I ever felt extremely low./

I called my mom that tragic afternoon to take me home./
While waiting, I got a chocolate milk with vanilla foam./
That was the only good thing that happened to me today./
Maybe they'll have the red sweatshirt fully supplied in May.
