If Today Had Been My Last Day
Glass daggers carved through the air,
Causing pain, I can’t stand to bear
Throbbing agony shot through my brain
Blacking out, my being had been slain
I awoke with little vision
And doctors making incisions
My mind verged on the edge of a void
As if I had been wholly destroyed
Lying down without sensation,
A time set for contemplation
I am alive today, but what if?
What if I had fallen off the cliff?
If today had been my last day,
Could I leave with my life astray?
Now, to the fullest, I will portray
As if today is my very last day.
