A hazy truth
Concealed by lies
Claiming glory and honor
Sharply unveiled by blasts of guns and cries of men
Through the struggles and fear of death or pain,
A new truth is realized

Fighting for life
As though each step is the last
Grasping life with white knuckles
The weight of war pulls away
Heavy with pain

Running from a falling sky
Running from falling pellets of gas and death
Old students of youth and innocence
Face death each moment

Shielding and hiding from warfare
Shutting the eyes and heart

Blindly running into black smoke
Where secrets and emotions are hidden forever
A shadow of agony
Screaming into a world that misunderstands
