To fondly remember

I see the tear glisten on her cheek
Her wrinkles crinkle in thoughts of nostalga
What thoughts lie beneath the surface?
The tear rolls down to meet her thin lips set in a sad smile
What images spot here and there behind those soft closed lids?
Does she a child grow to be a mother?
Does she then see a motherless child?
Does she see a family lost in grief?
The tear is shooed away by a weather-worn hand
Her eyes open once she remembers that there are others still here that she must live for
I see another tear glisten on her cheek
