The Dream

The same dream again
and again
and again.
It starts at home
I tell one lie
and a monster appears before my eyes.
I say I didn't do it
in hopes it will go away
then another one appears
and by the end of the day
there are hundreds of them.
I try to run away.
They just follow me.
Then suddenly I grow wings
I can fly away.
But when I get in the air
they disappear
and I fall to the monsters below.
Just before I hit the ground
I scream,
then wake
and now I know
You can't run away from the lies you make.
